BIO
Hi, I’m Andrew — a designer, product manager, and creative problem-solver with 20+ years of experience helping teams build smarter, more intuitive digital experiences.
I started as a graphic designer during the dotcom boom, building early Flash websites for Austin startups. In LA, I shifted into e-commerce and entertainment, delivering projects for NBC, Disney, and Fandango. Along the way, I fell in love with the intersection of design, research, and product strategy, and that passion drove me into leadership roles — including Senior Art Director at Edmunds, where I worked directly with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to rethink how users shop for cars.
In 2013, I took an unexpected detour into entrepreneurship, founding Nerdstrong Gym — a fitness space built on game theory and collaborative design. It became a nationally recognized brand featured in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and NPR, but more importantly, it gave me a hands-on masterclass in experience design, community building, and iterative problem-solving.
Today, I bring that blend of creativity, leadership, and user-centered design to every project. Whether I’m leading design sprints, mentoring teams, or aligning cross-functional groups around a shared vision, I focus on authentic communication, clear goals, and constant curiosity. I believe the best products come from teams that trust each other, ask hard questions, and stay focused on what real users need — not just what the roadmap says.
If you’re looking for a design leader who can balance hands-on craft, strategic thinking, and team empowerment, let’s talk.

Design, Solve, Fix — It’s What I Do
DESIGNING PRODUCTS
Every product starts as a question mark. My job is to turn that question into something clear, buildable, and beautiful. I work with stakeholders to translate ideas into actual user needs, then lead teams through the messy middle of design, iteration, and delivery. I believe great products balance function and delight, and the best design solves problems you didn’t even know you had.
SOLVING PUZZLES
Give me a weird, gnarly, tangled mess of a problem — I’m happy. Product challenges, process breakdowns, confusing feedback from five different teams — it’s all just a puzzle waiting to be solved. I break big problems into smaller ones, map solutions like a D&D dungeon master, and work side-by-side with teams to find the smartest, simplest answer.
FIXING THINGS
When something breaks (and it always does), I volunteer to figure it out. Broken processes, misfired launches, confused workflows — I’ve seen it all. I focus on root cause, not symptoms, and believe every fix should leave the team stronger than before. Fixing is about more than repair — it’s about making sure the next time works better.
Design, solve, fix — that’s the loop I live for.
FAQs
What’s it like working with you?
Curious, collaborative, and adaptable. I ask a lot of questions — not to challenge, but to understand. I love solving tough problems with a team, and I actively invite feedback at every stage (seriously, I want to hear it). I thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments and I’m just as comfortable in deep-dive design sessions as I am talking with stakeholders, engineers, or data scientists. My goal is always the same: move the team forward, together.
What’s your greatest strength?
Navigating social waters and staying adaptable. A former creative director once told me I excel at understanding what people need — even when they’re not saying it directly. I’m not precious about my work, and I don’t believe in ego-driven design. I iterate fast, pivot easily, and stay focused on outcomes. If something doesn’t work, no problem — I’m already thinking of what to try next.
What’s a challenge you’re working on?
Overthinking and wanting to fix everything. I’m a natural problem-solver, but that means I sometimes jump into solution mode too fast — even when the best move is to listen longer. I’m actively working on stepping back, absorbing more, and making space for others’ ideas before I reach for my toolbox.
What are you most proud of?
Building a career (and life) full of creativity, curiosity, and connection. I’ve had the chance to design for major brands, start my own company, coach people toward their goals, and constantly learn new skills — from product strategy to boxing footwork. Along the way, I’ve built lasting relationships with brilliant teammates, thoughtful mentors, and passionate collaborators. That’s what I’m proud of — and it’s what drives me to keep going.
